About Tool Steel Bar P20+Ni

P20+Ni is a German-made mold steel pre-hardened plastic mold steel and universal plastic mold steel.

It adds with the mass fraction of about 1% nickel, the material is pure, the hardness is even (even if the thickness is over 500mm), the hardenability is good, the diameter or the thickness is less than 100mm, The calcification and vacuum degassing, but also has excellent polishing, striae effect is good, processability and good electrical corrosion. P20 tool steel is Germany super pre-hardened plastic mold steel, vacuum degassing and ESR remelting.

Pure steel, the hardness is still uniform when the thickness ≥ 500mm; sulfur content and gas containing very low (ω (S) ≤ 0.005%) , excellent mirror polishing performance, etching processability, EDM spark processing performance is good; pre-hardened state of supply.

No re-heat treatment can be directly engraved die processing; with excellent machinability, cutting and polishing, stress relief annealing and surface nitrogen Treatment, size and hardness changes little.

Local hardening with oxyacetylene flame partial heating can be achieved: a hardened area will be required, heated to light red (850-950 ° C), and then cooled in air.

In order to prevent excessive stress caused mold cracking. Should be tempered at 150 ~ 200 ° C, after the flame hardening. Surface hardness can reach 45 ~ 50HRC. Note that during the flame hardening process, the mold should be preheated 150 ~ 200 ° C to prevent mold cracking.
